Set product pricing, tax, and shipping details

Enter selling and cost prices, choose a tax class, add HSN details, and provide the weight and size used for delivery.

Set prices

  1. Open the product and select Pricing.
  2. Enter the product base or MRP value and its selling price.
  3. Open Variants to set each option's base price, selling price, and optional sale price.

Cost per unit and merchandise gross-margin reporting are Pro features, and appear only when StoreMink has also enabled the gross-margin module for the platform. When the field is available, a variant cost can be left blank to inherit the product cost. The first supplied cost can fill older order lines that have no cost snapshot; later edits apply to new sales and do not rewrite an existing snapshot.

What a variant sale price does

A variant's sale price is the amount the customer pays, both on your website and at the register. Its regular selling price is what the sale is measured against, and the storefront flags the option as the better-value choice. Clear the sale price to end the sale; the variant then charges its selling price again.

Only variants carry a sale price. A product without variants always charges its own selling price.

Delivery quotes and any free-delivery threshold are judged on the discounted order value, so a basket of items on sale counts towards free delivery at the price the customer actually pays, not the regular price. Taxes are also calculated on the sale price.

Choose tax details

  1. Create the required tax class first in Taxes & invoices.
  2. Return to the product and choose the tax class on Basics.
  3. Open Pricing and enter the HSN code in the Shipping section when required.
  4. Save.

Product import does not create tax classes automatically. Historical order lines keep their saved tax and price snapshots when you edit the product later.

Add shipping details

On Pricing, choose whether the product requires shipping. For a physical product, enter the product-level weight and dimensions. Shiprocket and delivery estimates depend on accurate package and location information.

Current variant shipping limitation

The product editor does not expose variant-specific shipping, weight, or dimension fields. Variants inherit the product-level values unless their records already contain an import-supplied override. The current product CSV template does not expose columns for creating or correcting those physical overrides. Correct the final packed measurements while booking a shipment, or contact StoreMink Support if a stored variant override is wrong.
