Organise products with categories and card colours

Create reusable catalogue categories and visual card colours, then assign them to products.

Create a category

  1. Open Products → Categories.
  2. Create a category with a name and URL handle.
  3. Add its description and image when useful.
  4. Choose its status and order, then save.

Use a stable handle because it becomes part of storefront browsing and import matching.

Create a card colour

  1. Open Products → Colours.
  2. Add a clear internal name and choose the colour value.
  3. Save it.

Assign organisation to products

  1. Open a product.
  2. On Basics, choose its required category.
  3. On Visibility, choose the optional card colour.
  4. Save and check the product card on the storefront.

Making a category Hidden removes that category from storefront category navigation. It does not unpublish products assigned to it; change a product's own status to Draft when the product itself must be hidden.

Import behaviour

A product CSV can create a missing category by name or handle. It never creates a missing tax class. Category imports match existing categories by handle.
