Add product images and variants

Upload product and variant images, then add options with their own price, initial stock, StoreMink SKU, and supplier barcode.

Add product images

  1. Open the product and select Media.
  2. Upload the primary image used as the storefront thumbnail.
  3. Upload any extra gallery images.
  4. Remove an image that should no longer appear, then save the product.

The current product editor adds gallery images in upload order and does not provide a control to rearrange them. Choose the primary image separately and upload extra images in the order you want.

Add variants

  1. Select the Variants tab.
  2. Select Add variant.
  3. Enter a clear option name, such as a size or colour.
  4. Enter its base and selling prices, optional sale price, opening stock, supplier barcode, and images. Cost appears only when gross margin is available for the store.
  5. Repeat for the remaining options. Use the arrows to reorder variant rows; the top variant is selected first on the product page.
  6. Save the product.

The Stock field sets opening stock for a new variant at the main location. Existing variant stock appears as a read-only store-wide total, with a Manage by location link to Inventory; it cannot be changed in the product form. Variant gallery images can be added or removed, but cannot currently be rearranged.

Sale prices on variants

The optional sale price is what the customer pays for that option, on your website and at the register. Clear it to return the variant to its selling price. See Set product pricing, tax, and shipping details for how it affects tax and delivery charges.

Simple products and variants

A product without variants uses the product-level price, barcode, tracking, backorder, and low-stock controls. After you add variants, each variant becomes the sellable stock unit, so inventory and scanning use variant values. The current editor does not expose tracking, backorder, or low-stock controls for individual variants; manage their location quantities from Inventory.

Removing a variant

Delete only a variant that has never appeared in an order. Order history protects referenced variants, so saving the product will fail if you remove a sold variant. Leave that variant in the product. If it is inventory-tracked, set its location stock to zero to make it unavailable; if you must stop the entire product, change the product to Draft. The current editor does not provide a separate unpublish control for one variant.
