Troubleshoot POS and internet issues

Fix common plan, location, device, staff, stock, shift, payment, pickup, receipt, and connectivity problems at the counter.

The address says this site cannot be reached

You can type pos.storemink.com or your merchant address normally; you do not need to add https://. StoreMink permanently redirects a plain HTTP request to encrypted HTTPS. If the message remains after reloading, check the phone's connection and try another network. The public pos.storemink.com page explains the product; to use the register, open your merchant store domain followed by /pos.

POS opens the product page instead of my register

Use your merchant store domain followed by /pos, for example your-store.storemink.com/pos. The separate pos.storemink.com address is the public product site.

POS says it is unavailable

  • Confirm the store is currently on Pro.
  • Open Dashboard → Point of Sale and make sure POS is enabled.
  • Confirm the current location is active and has Sell here enabled.
  • If the plan was downgraded, restore Pro. Existing POS data is kept.

A staff member cannot sign in

  • Check that the invitation was completed and the staff row is active.
  • Check that the person is assigned to this location.
  • Use Forgot PIN or password? for a single-use reset link.
  • If a new browser shows a pairing prompt, the owner must authorise the device or provide a fresh pairing code.

A pairing code does not work

Codes are single-use and expire after 10 minutes. Generate a new code from Point of Sale → Devices. If the device was revoked or clone detection fired, review the security event before trusting the browser again.

A product is missing or sold out

Search the full catalogue; a product can be absent from the quick layout and still be sellable. Check that it is published, its variant still exists, the barcode is correct, and available stock at this location is above zero. The catalogue catches up after reconnecting, but the server's live price and stock always win at completion.

The register asks for an open shift

The store has Require an open shift to sell enabled. A manager must open Drawer and enter the float before staff can take counter money. A prepaid pickup can still be handed over.

Card or UPI is not verified

Card machine and UPI app record a payment completed outside StoreMink. Check the external terminal or app before adding the tender. Use Online when you want StoreMink to charge and verify the connected Razorpay gateway.

An online payment was captured but the sale failed

Do not take the payment again. Retry completion with the staged gateway reference. If stock was sold on another till during payment, the owner must refund the captured payment from the dashboard.

A pickup cannot be found

Search by order reference, phone, or email, or scan/type the collection code. A code from another location should name that shop. A cancelled, collected, refunded, or expired order can still appear in search but correctly offers no hand-over action.

The printer or email receipt failed

Reopen the sale from Sales and print again. Check the browser's selected printer, 80 mm paper setting, and system print permission. For email, confirm the address and check the dashboard email log; a receipt delivery failure does not reverse the sale.

Can I sell without internet?

No. Cached catalogue search can keep working briefly, but checkout, live stock validation, payment verification, pickup, returns, shifts, and stock movements need the StoreMink server. Restore the connection, let the screen refresh, and then continue. Do not record a sale as completed until StoreMink confirms it.
