Understand Google Search analytics

Learn what clicks, impressions, search CTR, average position, queries, and landing pages mean and why Google Search data can be delayed.

Google Search cards show how your StoreMink storefront performed in Google Search. StoreMink securely manages the Search Console connection for supported storefront hosts, so you do not need to enter a personal Search Console property ID on the Analytics page.

Search metrics

Google Search clicks

The number of times someone clicked a Google Search result that led to your storefront.

Google Search impressions

The number of times a storefront result was shown in Google Search under Google's reporting rules.

Search click-through rate

Clicks divided by impressions, multiplied by 100. It estimates how often an impression became a click.

Average search position

The impression-weighted average position reported by Google. A lower number generally means a result appeared nearer the top. It is an average across searches, pages, devices, and locations, not a guaranteed ranking seen by everyone.

Google Search performance

A time chart that plots clicks and impressions across the selected period. Use it to spot changes, then open the query or landing-page details to investigate what contributed to them.

Top Google searches

The search queries that produced the most clicks, then impressions, for the storefront in the selected range.

Top search landing pages

The storefront pages that received the most Google Search clicks, then impressions.

Why data is delayed

Google Search performance is not a live counter. StoreMink imports Google's available data on a schedule, and recent days are commonly incomplete for about two days. Search dates follow Google's Pacific Time reporting calendar, which can differ from your StoreMink business time zone.

Dashboard states

  • Not launched: the storefront is not ready for public Search reporting.
  • Collecting: StoreMink is waiting for enough Google data to arrive.
  • No visibility: the connection works but Google reported no measurable visibility for the selected range.
  • Ready: current imported metrics are available.
  • Delayed or error: StoreMink could not refresh the latest data. Previously imported data may remain visible with a warning.

Why query totals may not match overall totals

Google can omit uncommon or sensitive search queries to protect privacy. The sum of visible query rows can therefore be smaller than the overall clicks or impressions shown in summary cards.

Custom domains and domain changes

Search history belongs to the storefront source that produced it. When a store moves between its StoreMink subdomain and a custom domain, old data remains historical and the new source starts collecting separately. This avoids mixing two hosts into a misleading trend.

If no data appears

  1. Confirm the storefront is publicly launched and its pages are indexable.
  2. Choose a date range that ends at least a few days ago.
  3. Remove any expectation that a physical-location filter changes Search data.
  4. Wait for Google processing and the next StoreMink sync.
  5. If a delayed/error message remains for more than 72 hours, contact StoreMink support with the store domain and screenshot.
